What's in a Name?

WHAT'S IN A NAME?
IMELDA

Imelda is a Spanish and Italian variant of Irmhild. Irmhild originates in Germanic languages and means "fighting the whole battle". As a feminine given name it is very unusual and considered old-fashioned in the United States. Blessed Imelda Lambertini was the 14th century patron saint of First Holy Communicants, a Catholic Church ceremony. https://www.babynames.com/names/
As I mentioned, Sean and I are scanning and uploading old photos. This picture of the 3 Melda's was so cute! It was taken in the 1990's in our Morningstar house here in Lake Forest. {Melda Kelly Joyce is Uncle Walt's daughter... so Melda is actually Dad's first cousin... she is a retired chiropractor, living in Willows CA with her husband, John Joyce.)

The photo of Imelda Kelly Krueger was shared to our family tree on ancestry.com from the Krueger family. {Imelda was one of  Grandma Aggie and Rene's sisters.} She was born in July 1890 in Silver Bow, Butte Montana. One of the newspaper articles {shared by the Krueger family}  mentioned that Imelda was known as a charming and loveable young woman; as well as being a talented elocutionist and a popular school teacher. She married Karl Krueger in October 1914. As far as we know, they had one son, Karl C. Krueger, born in Montana in 1916. One newspaper article mentioned that the Kruegers moved from Montana to Los Angeles, for Imelda's health. She passed away on November, 10, 1926 at age 36.

Our Melda has been keeping busy in this time of quarantining. She is sharing her time, talent and support by making yard signs for the residents of the city of Orange! {her tometown} In her text, she wrote: "They have sold out again... 400 total!"  WAY TO GO, MELDA!

👀 Did you happen to notice a few additions to our blog?
Dan and I added a "mission statement" at the top! The lyrics are from one of our favorite Joni Mitchell songs: All I Want.  The words resonated with the idea of our family blog...our love can bring out the best in all of us!  {Dan added Joni Mitchell's song as a link.}
He also added Molly Zive's link. Molly led a great presentation on Instagram live last Saturday about Mindfulness and Stress Relief.  If you missed it, you can click and go straight to her site to see her at any time! It could be a wonderful way to start your day with a 15 minute guided breathing exercise, led by Molly.
Marty changed his goal to donate to $1000, and as of today, he has already reached $810! And his birthday is not until May 29th...still plenty of time to bust his goal: Marty's Feed America Fundraiser

Sharing our Stories with Love:
Since Mother's Day will be different this year; and many of us will be separated from our Moms, daughters, daughters-in-laws, grandchildren, etc.... we thought it might be fun to post any dedication, (including a picture, if you want!) that you want to share onto the family blog!  You can send it to either Dan (chiefmurphy@gmail.com) or me (maureenrenden@gmail.com) by Wednesday night, so we can post them on Friday!

LYM,
Reenie
